SUMMARY


The IT Business Analyst provides the critical link between the business andtechnology sides of the organization by effectively discerning and analyzingthe true needs of business users; developing and modeling detailed steps thatmost effectively and efficiently solve business problems; and communicatingthese solutions to technology staff. The IT Business Analyst works withbusiness resources within the company (end users, managers, developers, andexecutives) as well as business interest external to the company.  This position leads the effort to
gather and analyze requirementsin support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

·       Critically evaluateinformation gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decomposehigh-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information toa general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying trueneeds.

·       Proactively communicateand collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze informationneeds and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts asneeded: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. UseCases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs).

·       Work independently withusers to define concepts to work into the project management process.

·       Work with applicationdevelopers to translate high-level business requirements into functional andtechnical specifications.

·       Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with adiverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

·       Develop requirementsspecifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply,clearly unambiguously and concisely.

·       Analyze impacts tosoftware applications throughout all phases of projects.

·       Identify testrequirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design testcoverage plan. Assist in testing as needed.

·       Ensure that validateddeliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.

·       Identify, track, monitorand communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances andcontingencies that may arise during the implementation of IT projects.

·       Proactively identifygaps required to bring project to completion and recommend solutions toeliminate gaps

·       Assist in project managementassignments as needed.

·       Ability to problemsolve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccuratedata

·       Ability to work onmultiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

·       Demonstrated ability to think broadly and communicate analysisclearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to peers, the business /client and all levels of management.

·       Working knowledge ofrelational databases and database structures.

·       Perform data mappingactivities and SQL transactional queries for analysis

·       Advanced knowledge ofMicrosoft applications, including Excel and Visio.

·       Ability to work acrossmultiple teams in an open and collaborative way to design holistic solutions ina fast paced environment.

·       Ability to plan and execute project plans including workbreakdown, resource estimates activity planning, resource scheduling, projectadministration, and status reporting.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education/Experience:

·        Must have bachelor’s degree in related field.

·        3-5  years of experience in business process analysis or IT data analysis experience.

·        3-5  years of experience documenting functional, high-level business requirements within a professional business environment.

·        3-5  years of experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes required.

·        3-5 years of experience leading and/or facilitating a requirements gathering session.

·        Experience working in all phases of the SDLC.

·        Possess or be working toward certification in business analysis, CBAP or equivalent


Preferred Education/Experience:

·        Healthcare, Healthcare payer experience

·        Trizetto QNXT

·        Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

·        Experience with SharePoint

·        Experience with Agile, Scrum, User Stories, and/or Test Driven Development.
