 Director for Hospital Medicine


CHI Franciscan Health is seeking a Director for Hospital Medicine.  This position is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating the administrative operations associated with the Hospital Medicine Service Line.  Hospital Medicine refers to the continuum of comprehensive medical care/services delivered to hospitalized patients.


The Director will provide authoritative guidance on the application of hospital medicine standards and best practices.  They will also serve as a local champion for change and a catalyst for shifting the culture of the organization and implementing the vision of an integrated health care delivery system.


Essential Job Functions Include:  

  • Plan, manage and evaluate the Hospital Medicine Service Line to improve value by optimizing business operations
  • Improve value by supporting optimization of clinical operations within the Hospital Medicine Service Line and take effective action to proactively improve the quality of services provided
  • Develop and enhance performance and alignment within the service line by recruiting, developing, aligning and mobilizing physicians to optimize service line performance
  • Participate in the development and implementation of overarching strategic business plan to establish service line goals

Our Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HealthcareAdministration, Nursing, Management Engineering or related discipline
    • Sevenyears of closely related work experience that would demonstrate attainment ofthe requisite job knowledge/abilities, including a minimum of three years ofprogressive management experience. 
    • Workexperience using structured process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean,Kaizen, Six-Sigma, etc) is preferred.
    • Master’s degree in a healthcare/business administration orother discipline related to the requirements of the position is stronglypreferred.
